Triformix realizes that its customers need to get the most advanced, competitive and cost-effective product to market in ever-faster development cycles. That is why we have built a team of design professionals that will engineer the optimum module at whatever level of integration is required, from a single high precision optic to a complex, multifunction opto-electronic assembled package that drops into the customer’s finished product. Using the injection molding process as its core manufacturing technology, Triformix focuses on developing the technologies required to enable next generation, low cost optical components for the communications and instrumentation markets.

Triformix also brings collaboration and solutions support to deliver exceptional results. We provide expertise and capability in:

  • Product design
  • Optical design
  • Packaging design for components and assemblies
  • Tooling design
  • Materials science
  • Advanced processing capabilities
  • Failure-mode analysis
  • Program management
  • Diagnostics and metrology

Since its inception, Triformix has led the industry in pioneering new capabilities to increase precision in high-volume components. Using innovative tooling and advanced engineering for part design, we can manufacture at micron level precision on both optical and mechanical features. {Top}

The key advantage of the injection molding process is the ability to design complex, multifunctional components. At Triformix, we have put together a team of optical and mechanical engineers to exploit this capability to our customer’s benefit. Our team can integrate multiple materials, including plastic and glass; insert-molded lead frames; and flex circuit technology to design a module at the die-level for optimum cost savings and efficiency. {Top}

The design and manufacturing teams at Triformix know what it takes to design a product for high-yield, high-volume manufacturing. When you work with Triformix you will be talking to seasoned professionals who understand optics and spectral requirements; are familiar with polymers, glass and coatings; know assembly techniques and critical manufacturing considerations; and are capable of developing cost-reduction strategies and competitive delivery cycles. {Top}

Triformix has over 25 years of experience with challenging, high-temperature materials for optics. As one of the early partners in the development of these materials, and the largest consumer of Ultem for plastic optics in North America, the company continues to research and develop new materials and enhancements to meet the evolving needs of the market. Through its unique processing capability, Triformix is the only manufacturer worldwide to produce high- temperature optics in differing levels of transmission specified to +/- 0.1 dB. {Top}

Triformix’s ability to lead the industry in high-precision molded optics depends on our innovative and proprietary mold designs. These capabilities have resulted in industry-leading tolerances at micron levels in multicavity tooling, including complex mechanical features and multiple optical surfaces. We have been manufacturing high-volume computer peripheral optics in molds as large as 16 cavity for over 10 years, having been the first to develop the capability. {Top}

Accurate metrology is critical to every phase of our process, from design through prototyping, and into ramp to full production. Using the latest equipment and tools, Triformix’s capabilities ensure the product designed is the product delivered. {Top}
