Triformix Technology - Building Blocks for Your Success
Injection molding is our core manufacturing technology. Using our strengths in
  • Precision Engineering
  • Tooling Design
  • Metrology
  • Materials Science
  • Advanced Processing Capabilities
  • Failure Mode Analysis
we have lead the industry since our inception in high volume manufacture of polymer products with micron-level optical and mechanical features. Extending the edge of technology, we enable our customers to enter new optical applications.
Unique advantages of polymers in optical applications
  • Improved Performance with Aspherics and Diffractives
    Aspheric surfaces can greatly improve performance and reduce the number of components required. Aspherics, which can capture more light and thereby increase coupling efficiency, are easily and reliably manufactured with polymers. Diffractive surfaces enable unique beam shaping and lend themselves to a family of photonic applications.
  • Multi-function Components
    By allowing multi-focal optics, multi-element optics, integrated mountings, and minimized discrete surfaces, polymers can dramatically reduce material and assembly costs.
  • Reduced Footprint
    Integration of optical and mechanical features enables miniaturization, as stack up tolerances are minimized. Integration of optics and mechanical features also allows passive alignment in customers’ assembly process.
  • Value-Added Assemblies
    Sophisticated finishing processes such as thin-film coating for color management and EMI shielding are available to provide additional functionality and performance to miniature subassemblies.
  • Improved Impact Resistance
    Molded polymer components provide impact resistance many times greater than their glass counterparts.

Advanced Materials Science
We have over 25 years of experience with challenging, high-temperature materials for optics. As one of the early partners in the development of these materials, and the largest consumer of Ultem for plastic optics in North America, we continue to research and develop new materials and enhancements to meet the evolving needs of the market. Through our unique processing capability, we are the only manufacturer worldwide to produce high-temperature optics in differing levels of transmission specified to +/- 0.1 dB. {Top}
Innovative Mold Design
Our ability to lead the industry in high-precision molded optics depends on our innovative and proprietary mold designs. These capabilities have resulted in industry-leading tolerances at micron levels in multicavity tooling, including complex mechanical features and multiple optical surfaces. We have been manufacturing high-volume computer peripheral optics in molds as large as 16 cavity for over 10 years, having been the first to develop the capability. {Top}
Test & Measurement
Accurate metrology is critical to every phase of our process, from design through prototyping, and into ramp to full production. Using the latest equipment and tools, our capabilities ensure the product designed is the product delivered. {Top}
